Dr. Jinkyu Im was born in South Korea and relocated to New York City when he was 12 years old. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. Upon graduation, Dr. Im pursued further education at New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Im is married to Dr. Seulgi Lee, whom he met during dental school.

After completing his training to become a dentist, Dr. Im joined the military as a dental officer with the rank of Captain, stationed in Vilseck, Germany, for three years. The military experience helped mold and shape Dr. Im into the caring and patient-practitioner that he is today. With great mentorship from experienced senior dental officers, he learned how to attentively listen to his patients, understand their needs, determine the appropriate course of treatment, and provide the best care available. The military experience exposed him to some of the best continuing education opportunities and various aspects of dentistry.

Even after becoming a dentist, Dr. Im continues his education by taking multiple CE courses. Recently, he completed a postdoctoral specialty program in Advanced Esthetics and Occlusion at NYU College of Dentistry, focusing on cosmetic and esthetic dentistry.
