How Invisalign Works

Invisalign aligners are made from smooth, BPA-free clear plastic custom-molded to your teeth. You wear each set of aligners for about 1–2 weeks before switching to the next set in the series, each one making small, precise adjustments to move your teeth toward their ideal position.

Because the aligners are removable, you can eat, drink, brush, and floss normally throughout treatment.

What Can Invisalign Treat?

During your consultation, we'll assess your case and let you know if Invisalign is the right fit — or if a different approach would serve you better.

The Invisalign Process

1

3D Scan & Planning

We take a digital scan of your teeth and use Invisalign's ClinCheck software to map out your entire tooth movement — you can preview your results before treatment begins.

2

Custom Aligners

Your series of custom aligners is fabricated and delivered. You receive several sets at a time.

3

Wear & Progress

Wear aligners 20–22 hours per day. Check in with us every 6–8 weeks to monitor progress.

4

Retainer

After treatment, a retainer maintains your results. Your new straight smile is worth protecting!

Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces

Invisalign advantages: Virtually invisible, removable for eating and hygiene, smooth plastic (no wire irritation), typically fewer office visits, and often comparable or shorter treatment time for suitable cases.

When braces may be better: Severe cases, complex bite issues, or situations requiring very precise tooth rotation may still be better suited for traditional orthodontics.

Most adult and teen Invisalign cases are completed in 12–18 months, though simpler cases may finish in as little as 6 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many hours per day do I need to wear aligners?
Invisalign works best when worn 20–22 hours per day. You remove them only to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss.
Does Invisalign hurt?
You may feel mild pressure for the first day or two after switching to a new set of aligners — this is normal and means the teeth are moving. It is generally much more comfortable than traditional braces.
How much does Invisalign cost?
Cost varies based on the complexity of your case and length of treatment. Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign similarly to traditional braces. We offer flexible payment options and will provide a detailed quote after your consultation.
